I think this counts as fanart?

I am so incredibly honoured and delighted that Seþþe decided to spend so much time and energy illustrating the climactic scene of The Old Goat and the Alien. I am so in love with it, from the many different kind of eyes to the incredible looming shadow, darker than the star-speckled space. I love that Jenna as the core focal point of light, and I love the smaller light from Avari’s flame as they watch on. The whole thing is a study in fire and shadow and the starkness of space and I just completely adore it. I never expected anyone to take the time to illustrate something I’d written, let alone a scene as strange and visually complex as this one. I just had to share it here (with permission, of course)!

The Starfire Ancient, a vast, looming shadow in the darkness with wings and surrounded by rings of giant, flaming eyes, has taken the form of a smilodon. It gazes down at Jenna, now a floating smilodon cosmoran, while Avari, a goat-shape cosmoran, watches on. All of this happens floating in space, the shadow of the Ancient blocking out the light of the distant stars. Each eye is a different colour and shape, including the pupils, very much bringing to mind the variety of eyes in the animal kingdom (and by extension, among cosmorans).
